A Trinidad-born woman has been found dead in her home in Florida on Wednesday.

Police have held her boyfriend who they described as armed and dangerous.

Kiara Alleyne, who recently migrated to Florida, was originally from Point Fortin, Trinidad.

Detectives of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) found Alleyne, 20, dead in her Florida home after a family member called them expressing concern about her well-being.

MCSO, in its Facebook page, stated: “On Wednesday, September 11th, 2019 the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) received a call for service from a family member concerned for Kiara Alleyne’s well‐being.”

It stated, “Upon arrival, MCSO detectives found the victim, Kiara Alleyene (DOB 5/18/1999), deceased in the home located at 2241 NE 78th Lane in Anthony, FL.”

The sheriff’s office said it received information that the 30-year-old suspect was going to take Alleyene’s and his life.

MCSO said when detectives arrived on the scene, they found Alleyne’s body but not her one-year-old daughter who was taken by her boyfriend.

The daughter was subsequently found at the home of a family member, but the suspect was not located.

Police said he was considered armed and dangerous and was last seen driving a 2008 black Mazda CX7.

He was later arrested.
